About The Role

We are currently looking for a Content Marketing Manager to join our Content department. Our Content Marketing Managers are integral to client success, delivering content strategies and supporting new business and account growth. You will take ownership of your accounts and constantly improve, grow and deliver beyond expectations. You need to be strategic but also an efficient implementer, delivering on your recommendations and executing them to a high standard. You will be working with a variety of verticals and brands, both household names and scale-ups that require your expertise and guidance.

Key Role Requirements

  • 3+ years’ content marketing experience working in a similar role, preferably at an agency, ideally across both B2C and B2B
  • Proven experience in writing for web, as well as editing, proofing, optimising and commissioning freelancer writers
  • Experience creating and managing content calendars for multiple clients or websites
  • Strong knowledge of current SEO best practice for content
  • Experience using research and reporting tool to inform content strategy e.g. Google Analytics, Ahrefs, STAT, Semrush, Keyword Planner
  • Proven experience in reporting on content KPIs and creating client-facing reports and presentations
  • Excellent knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel, capable of translating data into a valuable insight
  • Sound knowledge of social media, good understanding of social content creation and best practice
  • Rigorous attention to detail with impeccably high standards

What You Will Be Doing

Client Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with Organic clients as the trusted day-to-day account lead; take ownership of client meetings, regular client updates and reporting
  • Run the day-to-day management of client accounts, including defining operating rhythms, monitoring and delivering against KPIs, owning channel deliverables and timelines, managing weekly and monthly reporting, and managing budgets
  • Leading and setting an example for juniors across the team, ensuring operational and administrative content processes are upheld to a high standard
  • Contribution to contract renewals to achieve a high client retention rate

Growth

  • Proactively identifying new ideas for existing clients and upselling services where possible
  • Contributing to the department’s new business strategy, including identifying new prospect opportunities, working with Sales & Marketing, proposal preparation and pitch involvement
  • Develop commercial awareness, with a focus on understanding client contract breaks and growing the commercial value of your client portfolio through up- and cross-selling

People & Freelancer Management

  • Take ownership of content management systems, ensuring client documentation, content schedules, deliverables and tasks are effectively organised across ClickUp, Google Drive and SharePoint
  • Take ownership of weekly account activity, consistently and effectively delegating tasks to junior members of the team and taking responsibility for ensuring deadlines are met
  • Take ownership of the management of our pool of writers
  • Provide regular feedback to junior colleagues across accounts, working with them to develop core content and client management skills
  • Demonstrate consistent upward management skills to account leads, sharing successes and flagging issues with considered solutions at the earliest opportunity
  • Provide regular feedback on account teams to senior colleagues, highlighting exceptional performance and flagging any concerns/issues of performance management

Industry Knowledge

  • Completing proactive analysis, using relevant tools to spot trends, challenges and opportunities to benefit clients, the team and the wider company
  • Strong content strategy, copywriting skills and social media along with a sophisticated in-depth knowledge of relevant industries which can be shared for the benefit of the team

Hours

  • 9am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday, flexible hours and hybrid working available
