Background

Phone Dudes offer a handy on-site mobile repair service for those who have cracked their phone screen. They approached us with the task of re-designing the site and most importantly, re-thinking the user experience of the booking system with the goal of increasing conversions.

The initial objective was to re-design the online booking and payment, predominantly from a UX perspective, with a refresh of the existing UI.

As Phone Dudes is a location-based service, one of the main objectives was to whittle out bookings outside of Central London as well as provide a clear, easy solution for booking an appointment.

As a phase 2 we were tasked with re-designing the rest of the site, retaining much of its simple one-page format at the client’s request, with the focus being on enhancing the UI to provide a cleaner, more beautiful and more engaging breakdown of the excellent service Phone Dudes provide.

After introducing and analysing website data and heatmap tracking, we revised the full user journey to create a simple, customer centric booking process involving a postcode checker, selecting a device and picking an available time slot.

With an injection of bold colours, quality imagery, interactive before-and-after screen repair sliders and clear breakdowns of the service and steps involved, Phone Dudes were left with a fully responsive, engaging website that oozes their unique brand.

Delivery

Since the launch of the new site in January, Phone Dudes have seen a considerable increase in goals and conversions.

In addition to the results highlighted below, traffic has increased from 1342 visits for November and December, to 4533 visits for January and February, and continues to climb.

As well as this, the introduction of responsive design has had a big impact, with 35% of traffic coming from mobile and goal completions increasing from 13 to 80 during the same time period.
